Week 2 Winner of Share Why You Care Contest

by ECL Staff

Our 2nd weekly winner is Angie W. from Columbus, Ohio, who writes: “Alzheimer’s stinks.” Angie describes a decade of dementia for her mom, in and out of hospitals and nursing homes. Angie writes about how her family fought hard to keep her Mom healthy, but in the end, it was a losing battle. Her mother was sent home from the hospital with hospice care, and now Angie is preparing to say goodbye. This comes on the heels of the family losing their father, as well.

We send our very best wishes to you, Angie, and hope you can enjoy a $50 gift card from the ElderCarelink.com Share Why You Care Contest.

If you haven’t already submitted your story, please be sure to do so before the contest ends. And do vote for the stories that you liked best; you can vote once a day. Please note: We’re having some technical difficulties on the back-end related to voting. Know that your votes are being counted, regardless of a possible “incorrect captcha” message. We’re working on fixing this immediately and appreciate your patience.

You might have missed the announcement about our Week #1 winner, so here’s another chance for us to congratulate Tammy K., of Falkville, Alabama, for her submission, “Taking Care of Both Parents.” And thanks to all those who have submitted their stories about caregiving.
